PROJECTS
With this project at Harvard, Berkman Klein Centre, I explore how AI can transform educational programs focusing on global citizenship education for students in K12 from a research, policy, and industry perspective while considering children’s rights in the design, implementation, and use of AI. You can read my article at the Diplomatic Courrier to see my motivation for this project.
For this project, I collaborate with schools in Japan, Uganda, Greece, Nepal, Mexico, and many more.

The use of Large Language Models, such as ChatGPT, are widely used by high-school students that have access to them. With this project, we disigned two configurations to understand the impact of explanations and guided questions to students’ performance and perceptions about LLMs. I conducted this project while working at the European Commission, Joint Research Centre in collaboration with the EU Policy lab that works on foresight, Design for Policy and Behavioural Insights (Link).
The results of the study are under review.

Privacy policies for embodied AI applications for children should follow the relevant AI privacy laws and regulatory frameworks and make sure that protect children’s data while promote their agency and autonomy. Finding the balance is a challengin endeavour. I use Sandboxing as an experimentation method to integrate current regulations, anticipate new frameworks and align them with AI design with developers in industry. Children’s participation in the design of policies is a pre-requisite. You can read the book chapter I wrote together with Virginia Dignum proposing a framework for operationalizing Regulatory Sandboxes for AI and children’s wellbeing.
